The catalogue of controls has been reduced from 114 to 93 and grouped into four new categories: organisational, people, technological and physical controls. Outdated controls have been removed, merged or replaced with more modern approaches, for example measures for managing cloud systems or AI-related risks. - Greater flexibility and adaptability:
Companies have more room for manoeuvre when implementing the standard, making it easier to tailor specific requirements to their individual risks and business processes. - A stronger focus on cyber threats:
The new version strengthens protection against current and potential cyber attacks through modernised security strategies that take cloud security, zero-trust approaches and supply chain attacks into account. - Simpler integration with other management systems:
Thanks to the new structure of the standard (based on the so-called “High Level Structure”), it is easier to combine ISO 27001 with other certifications such as ISO 9001 or ISO 17100, an advantage we use directly at Global Mundi.
